When Britney Spears wore her iconic outfit at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, Tyla was not even born yet. In fact, Tyla didn't come into the world until four months later. Maybe she is not familiar with any of Britney's performances, and she could very well be genuine when she says her weekend two Coachella outfit was not inspired by that one Britney performance. When the comparison was made, she hopped on social media to clarify, then clapped back at someone for calling her a copycat. Though the outfit isn't a direct copy and paste, her stylist certainly had the vision. The real issue at hand, is that Tyla's response wasn't very dignified, at all. She clearly lacks media training, because any decent handler would have told her she never had to say anything. It's giving clapback Rihanna, during her "Unapologetic" era, but it's neither funny, nor smart.
Rihanna was hilarious by the way. But more importantly, she had many hits under her belt and was well established, while this girl is teetering on one hit wonder territory. She really needs to be careful how she presents herself, because right now, this isn't a good look.
