Although the hits now lack consistency, Ashanti stays booked and busy, and has done, throughout her entire career. She has been sailing the nostalgia wave for the past 20 years, which in turn makes her the ultimate legacy act. That's totally fine, if people want to party, dance and sing along to the songs that made you a star. She certainly knows where her bread is buttered, and she bought her recent UK tour to Manchester on Easter Sunday, April 20th. Ashanti visited Manchester A O Arena as part of her 13-date 'Bring It' tour with dance-hall king Sean Paul. The overall trek kicked off in Dublin on April 8th, and the pair served up classic realms of nostalgia when they took it back to the early 2000s with their iconic hits.
Ashanti's set lasted for about an hour, as she performed many fan favorites, including "Foolish," "Rain on Me," "What's Luv," "Body on Me," "So Into You" and "Rock with U." It's unlikely you will see her performing anything that's less than 3-years-old, because people aren't here for that. They want her to perform the nostalgic hits she's known for, and if being a legacy act is what gets her paid, this is what she will continue to do.
