The bickering between Ester Dean and Keri Hilson over who curated the lyrics dissing Beyoncé in the “Turnin Me On” remix have taken an interesting turn to say the least!
Dean publicly apologized about her part in the Beyoncé diss saying she co-wrote the “Turnin Me On” remix with Hilson. It was “childish and didn’t age well,” she admits. After that response, Hilson had to put Dean in check after she insinuated in her "apology" that Hilson "co-wrote" THAT part which received the most backlash.
However, Hilson vehemently stands her ground about having no involvement in co-writing that part of the song. Dean, needing to have the last say, came back with another longer reply to Keri. She claims that her and Keri were cool after the remix, and that Keri was even in her music video for “Drop It Low.” She further elaborates that she’s only speaking out now because people will listen this time, whereas back then, Keri was the bigger star.
In a shady twist of fate, Dean then went on to co-write "Start Over" and "Countdown" for Beyoncé’s album “4.” So Dean gets a massive career promotion by working with the very superstar she dissed, while Keri's career took a battering. People often say, "don't shoot the messenger." Well, sadly for Keri, she felt every bullet.
