Taylor Swift reportedly purchased her masters for around $360 million

Taylor Swift's first six albums were a real game changer. A game changer, that would later open the doors to the grabbing hands of betrayal, and colossal greed.

The rights to those first six albums, were sold to Scooter Braun, after he purchased Big Machine Records (her former record label), giving him total control of her first six albums. She criticised the move, claiming she was completely shut out from any participation in the sale.

She went on to re-record some of the albums, in a bid to devalue the originals. Braun later sold them to Shamrock, for a reported $405m. They then sold them to Taylor, for a reported $360m, and she viewed the transaction as honest and fair.

Paying $360m for your own life’s work is a shit load of money, and it should never have happened. However, this was too important of an opportunity to pass up on, and she has shown great elation, and gratitude, on finally gaining ownership of her masters. Congrats to Taylor! She will make that money back easily, and then some.
