Rihanna has released new song “Friend Of Mine” off the Smurfs soundtrack, and it's horrible

It's been evident for some time, that Rihanna no longer cares about a music career, or dropping albums any more. She just wants to be a mother to her children, focus on her brand, and then come home. But perhaps, she should just be honest with her fans,  and officially announce retirement, because dropping a horrible song, just so that people can stop bullying her into making new music, really isn't it. 

So today, she released the lead single, titled “Friend Of Mine,” off the Smurfs movie soundtrack, and to say there is a lack of effort in the song, is an understatement, to say the least! She literally only sings five words, which is put in serious loop mode, and she couldn't even be bothered to throw in a verse. 

It also sounds like  her voice, was put through the grinder, after a serious weed binge, and they tried to stifle it out with 50 layers of autotune. So in hindsight, this voice does not sound like Rihanna's, at all! Where is her actual voice? Where is the singing?!

It's a song for the kiddies, we get that, but come on! The verdict? An underwhelming pop club song, packed with synths, overprocessed vocals and a very looped process of five words. 

The 37-year-old stars in the family cartoon as Smurfette, with the film set to hit theaters on July 18th.
