Good news, finally! Diddy told his family he was coming home after the verdict for his sex trafficking trial was announced, giving his son Christian the audacity to say, "my pops is coming home!"
His family celebrated way too soon, as Diddy will NOT be released on bail ahead of his sentence. The rapper was cleared of the more serious charges of racketeering, conspiracy and sex trafficking. But he has been convicted on two prostitution charges.
His lawyers argued for him to stay at his home in Florida until sentencing, but this has been denied by a judge. Cassie’s lawyer wrote letters requesting a judge to deny his bail out of fear of retaliation, and the judge has done just that!
The judge says there is no way Diddy can prove he is not a threat to anyone or the community due to his abusive actions towards Cassie (as seen in footage) and Diddy’s lawyer’s own words. Diddy will return to prison as he awaits sentencing set to take place on October 3rd.
Prosecutors are asking for a minimum of 51 months in prison. Diddy has been in jail for 10 and will be credited for time served when he is sentenced.
This has to be the best news since we didn't get the best news on the verdict. Some of the stuff he is accused of certainly warrants a life behind bars. The maximum penalty for both charges is 20 years in prison, and that sounds good enough to many survivors of abuse!
