For those that feel Mariah Carey is just a seasonal artist, her new music appears to be showing signs of fighting spirit! She is so much more than a Christmas Queen, and being reduced to such is disrespectful!
Her new single “Type Dangerous,” is predicted to debut around #94 on the Billboard Hot 100 in final projections. 35 years into her already unattainable career, and despite the ageism she's had to deal with, Ms Carey is still charting so many years in the game, and that is absolutely amazing! Let's not forget that the songs on her last album "Caution," did not chart at all. So even if this moves down to the Bubbling Under, this is still very respectful.
With the music video dropping recently, and the song gaining traction on radio airplay, there is a very good chance that "Type Dangerous" will climb even higher. So instead of being disheartened, that she didn't get a much higher debut, let's just celebrate the fact, that this legendary diva, is about to achieve her 50th Hot 100 entry!
Just remember to keep streaming the song, watch the video a billion times if you must, and, keep appreciating Mariah, because she's one of the very few legends we've got left!
