Keyshia Cole serves up struggle vocals, at the 2025 B.E.T Awards

Taking to the stage at the 2025 B.E.T Awards this week, was Keyshia Cole, who  revisited a vintage version of herself, while serving a touch of Mary J. Blige. 

When she's able to bring the heat, Keyshia potentially can sometimes remind us why her hit single, ‘I Should Have Cheated’ still hits like it did in 2005. She looked beautiful, but sadly, the vocals weren’t all the way there, and her breath control needed serious work. Very disappointing for a legacy artist like herself. It was as if, she'd drunk a bottle of Jack Daniel’s, and smoked a pack of newports, before hitting the stage. She was choking in her emotion, simply because she was feeling the lyrics. In hindsight, Keyshia was sounding just like the rest of us, singing in our kitchen at home!
