Justin Timberlake diagnosed with Lyme disease

What many fans noticed was that, something was definitely up with Justin Timberlake. His lack of energy at his last few shows was disheartening to see, given that he’s usually full of energy. His Lyme disease diagnosis, revealed on July 31, 2025, via Instagram, explains his reported nerve pain and fatigue during his "Forget Tomorrow" world tour.

His decision to continue performing despite the illness mirrors other celebrities like Justin Bieber and Avril Lavigne, who have both described similar debilitating effects. Over 476,000 annual U.S. cases are often misdiagnosed due to vague symptoms, according to CDC data. Early antibiotic treatment can mitigate long-term effects if caught early.

The timing of Timberlake's announcement, amid fan criticism of his “lazy” performances, kind of puts to bed the narrative that he should just... retire, due to his inability to entertain an audience.

Choosing NOT to delay or cancel a show, was certainly the wrong call. He has a history of good performances, and fans pay a lot of money to see those.

He should have delayed the shows if he was not feeling capable of delivering a proper performance, because it just wasn't fair to the fans. He tried to push through, but made the wrong choice. Here's hoping he gets better, and that he takes a much needed long break.
